Should I file a paypal claim over $5.49???

Hi All,

This might sound like a stupid question, but I am asking for some input. I have been screwed in the a** on
couple transactions and they all have under $10.00.

I have e-mailed the seller three times and no response. For my most recent paypay purchase, is it worth filing
a claim for $5.49? The seller never shipped the item.

Are paypa claims like homeowner insurance? Where if you file so many claims, you are dropped from coverage.

Thanks for your input.

Tom

I think you are allowed two per year. I'd file it, what are the odds you will get ripped off again.

    Why not call paypal?

I think principle is worth something.

    Even for a few bucks.

Monetarily, it's not worth it, however I would do it just on principle. I may or may not get my 5.49 back, but so long as I win the case, PayPal can royally screw that person's account. That alone would be worth it to me.

I had heard you were allowed 3 paypal claims. the person I talked to at paypal a while back said there was no limit on the number of claims.

I would file it. it only takes a few seconds to do.

If you did not receive the item, then I would file a claim regardless of the amount.
It's the principle. There is no longer a limit on how many you can file per year.

I think what paypal really frowns upon is credit card chargebacks. If someone does that too often, then they might close the account, but as long as you file the complaint through their system, I don't think they care.
  • PayPal cannot refuse legitimate claims. If the seller cannot prove delivery, and you paid for the item by credit card, they have to refund your money.
Obviously, 20 claims in a week will raise flags, but if you are legitimate, they will eventually get rid of the seller.
