Check out the Streich collection making its debut at #54 in the 09-58 set. Could this be who Bob Hughes was buying for? Some serious Lincolns there.

    Yes sir. This collection is certainly not in the "Wiffleball" category. Oh what I would do for a friggin' 09-S VDB in 66. Oh what I would do for a friggin' 09-S VDB period! image

    I'll get there someday...just plugging along one coin at a time for now. It's nice to see people add sets like this. I'm curious to know if these coins were recently acquired or if someone just decided to finally enter their coins in the registry. I always wonder how many sets of this quality are out there...but are NOT registered?????

    That's a good start, indeed. Looking at some of those tough dates and grades it does appear that the set may have been recently built. Those are all dates/grades that have been recently available. Hopefully, the collector will join us on the boards.

    I didn't look at Ron B.'s collection that was in the recent Heritage/FUN auction...but is it possible that many of those came from that auction?

    That is the second collection in about two weeks that came out of the blue. I just have to buy more coins! Hopefully my last submissions will return soon! Take care, Mark

    Some may have come from his collection. I was referring to the availability of those coins in the market over the past couple months. If you look at what has been up for auction and retail sale, this set could have been put together recently. Or to look at it another way, coins missing from that set are also coins that have not been available for the past few months.
