OT: I was in LA to do an interview for a TV info-commercial, a few months back. I thought maybe a one or two of you would like to put a "face to and a voice", of one who posts here? (If not, I'm sorry, just click it off! LOL!)...
In addition to my "cardboard passion", I have a passion for real estate investing too!
My one minute of TV fame! LOL!

edit: P.S. LA was really cool! I met George Hamilton (in my hotel lobby!) and yes that guy really does have a "big time suntan"! Wanted to go to a card show while I was in LA, but spent my only free day, playing Texas Holdem at Hollywood Park instead!

here is a picture of me..
Might not be the best time for LA real estate though, it can't possibly go any higher.

Me too.
And that is exactly what I pictured RBD to look like.

<< <i>So did you really make $95k using this dude's system, or are you just an actor? I had a buddy who had bought the Don Lapre system several years ago and they wanted him to come on stage and say he made a ton of money when in fact his system didn't even work in the state of MN. So that's why I ask... >>
The average profit, using John's system is $10K to $20K per deal. That 95K? Yes, was a real deal!
In a nutshell: I've bought numereous properties since 2000. John Alexander, who ran that TV commercial, I met in 2000 in San Antonio, TX, by attending a "real estate investors' weekend" he sponsored.
John got me started in the right direction on how to do what he calls an "inverse purchase". Which is a type of "flipping" (putting a house under contract, and "flipping" or selling the house to another. You collect the difference!).
Over these past 6 years, I've developed my own way of doing things, but I do owe my start to my friend, John Alexander. Once a year John puts on a "get together" for his past sucessful students (he calls it a "regional summit"), maybe 30 to 50 others like myself meet and exchange "new investing ideas", have lots of fun and learn at lot too!
We are all evolving in different directions, but John's "inverse purchase" method is great! While i was in LA for John's shoot, I met a young man, who made over 6 million this past year "flipping properties". I also met a "father and son" who do six figures every month! Me? I'm just "small potatoes" compared to them.
Doing a TV infomercial, there is a production staff that does "spoon feed" some of the material, plus make-up, lighting, "takes", "re-takes", etc., to get it right. There were maybe 1/2 dozen (film crew, lighting, sound, the director, make-up artist, prop assistants, etc.) putting together each shot, frame-by-frame. I guess there is really no other way of doing this type of commercial better? But each and every individual that was filmed, are all successful real estate investors, that John personally invited. No acting!
I now, mostly like to "buy and hold" for 2-3 years, others exclusively "flip properties" right away. Some use "private money", while I use mostly banks and mortgage lenders, I mostly use partners, while others 'do it solo". It all works. There is no wrong way of "doing things".
edit: In any event, this is a "cardboard thread", not a real estate thread, so I better "stick to my OPC's here. I just thought it would be cool to share with you all, the video clip and have some fun! Thanks!

Funny! I was the oldest! (the first guy named, Bob!)

Actually that is a pretty small crew. 20-60 is pretty standard, depending on the spot being shot.
