1951 Topps team issue

Would anyone happen to know whether or not the 1951 Topps team issue of the Boston Red Sox includes Al Richter? I believe the names of the players appear on the back of the card. Thanks. Mark

I have both variations of the Topps 1951 Boston Red Sox team card and neither lists an Al Richter. There is a Stobbs.I can fax you front and back copies of the cards or mail you clor copies if you PM me a fax number or shipping address. Was there a ballplayer or team member by the name of Al Richter and if so, what can you tell me about him

If you want a card of Al Richter you can go to www.jewishmajorleaguers.org/all_timeroster.html. He is in a set of cards featuring Jewish major league ballplayers. The set was featured in an SCD article some time back

According to Beckett website, there was never a team issue card with Al Richter on it. The only cards for Richter are from the set (and parallels) that bishop mentioned. Here is the complete list of all Richter cards (according to Beckett):

2003 Jewish Major Leaguers #80-Al Richter
2003 Jewish Major Leaguers Gold #80-Al Richter
2003 Jewish Major Leaguers Silver #80-Al Richter

p.s. If anyone has that set, or parts of it, I want a few cards from it, but don't want to buy the whole set. Please let me know if so.

    James

I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.
  • Thanks, everyone. This board is a terrific resource. My interest in Richter is two-fold: I collect vintage cards of Jewish ballplayers (and have the Fleer set) and Richter is from my hometown (Norfolk, Va). I chose Chuck Stobbs as my id as he played baseball (and football) for my high school (20 years before me). His battery-mate was Hank Foiles. Mark

This seller has the 2003 Fleer Jewish Major Leaguer card (Al Richter) for sale ($1.40)

I know the original poster already has it, but if others need a few singles from this set, this seller has more. I bought the one I needed and his service was fast and the card was mint.
