Since it seems to be all the rage 'round here....... "Got some grades."

Just got these coins back today from NGC. Some surprises in here, that's for sure. It's going to take a while for me to figure out how this market grading works on world coins. I've included my apparently naive opinions after each coin which I wrote down before sending these in about a month ago.

NGC's Opinions ..... | My Opinions

001 1841PI JS MEXICO 8R MS61 ..... | AU58/MS61 50/50 Chance
002 1864DO LT MEXICO 8R MS61 ..... | MS62
003 1927MO MEXICO 5C MS66BN ..... | MS64BN
004 1820LIMA JP PERU 8R MS64 image ..... | MS63
005 AH1336 MOROCCO RIAL MS66 ..... | MS61/Poss. BB Clnd (I wasn't familiar with type so I didn't know what the lustre was supposed to look like).
006 1945C NEWFNDLAND 5CS MS62 ..... | Possible Proof/PF58 or AU58/Poss. BB Clnd
007 1873 JAPAN TYPE 2 50S MS62 ..... | MS61/Poss. BB ED/ (Originally thought it might be a Type I due to crappy and unintelligible photos in Krause)
008 1852/1AG SWEDEN 1/32R MS63 ..... | MS62 PL
009 1860CNB OB RUSSIA 1/2R MS63 ..... | MS62 PL/Poss. BB PVC

So, shows you what I know. Apparently nuttin' image

Well it looks like your own grading is quite conservative by TPG standards, so you'll have less disappointment in the long term. image

Apparently, you're not alone; I submitted a Prussia Silber Groschen (along with other coins, of course) to NGC recently...I bought it in a German auction as a "First Strike," (Erstabschlag). It's an attractive coin that I graded as MS65 P/L. NGC graded it PF-68 Cameo image - Preussen
"Illegitimis non carborundum" -General Joseph Stilwell. See my auctions

Very nice!!! Did you find me any goodies???
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

On average NGC was only one point different than you. About what I would expect. That Moroccian coin on the other hand . . .

Seems that you have a proper handle on grading - not that I didn't expect that since I have bought coins from you!
