  • How long before it's just PSA?
  • will it ever be just PSA?
Seriously-the hobby is big enough for everything that exists today. Notice I didn't say right or good for the hobby, just big enough. PSA, SGC, GAI and yes, even Beckett are the above the boards grading companies. PRO, GEM, etc all provide the other side- greed thru alterations and deception. There is meant to be some sarcasm and some resentment in that last statement.
My card collection, as humble as it is, means a lot to me. I have good conversations with people all the time about my cards, their cards, the good old days when you traded your 1980 Rickey Henderson for a bunch of common Cubs players (guilty!)....
I have raw cards. Most I've owned or bought knowing they were never meant for a slab. Others, I've bought and found out the hard way that that nice new card I got, is not really as advertised. Short this way or that, recolored on the black border to hide defects, etc. It's not right and I avoid cards not in a holder, but it is a sad reality.
