  • I've been keeping it a secret - but sometimes I print a picture of a really nice card that I know I'll never own - and I hang it up near my computer at work. Geez, how come I never thought about selling them on Ebay. image

I need oxygen too from laughing so hard!! Thanks for sharing that GEM Mint 10 of an auction.

Ironically because last week I heard a story on the news where someone sold a photo of an X-box 360 for $800-$900 on E-Bay before Christmas. The lazy buyer complianed to whomever at E-Bay etc. but was shot down.
  • Curious??

  • And this cancelled bid is good for a laugh:

    a_boondock ( 0 ) New eBay Member (less than 30 days) Cancelled: US $2.24
Explanation: Doesnt seem serious about winning auction, risk of shilling. Bid: Jan-13-06 20:38:34 PST
    Cancelled: Jan-13-06 20:50:06 PST

And he's worried about shilling for what reason exactly???

That's the sad thing. There are people that are that stupid. The guys pretty clear in his description that you're not getting the card, but a picture on glossy paper. Maybe he's getting bids because of the high quality glossy paper. I don't know.

I remember seeing an auction for a picture of a group of vintage fishing lures. It sold for about $45 and the neg the seller got from the buyer when he of course was expecting to receive the actual lures, not a picture, was the nastiest cuss filled neg I've ever seen on ebay - LOL

There is a bit of a story behind the auction. Basically a member of the Beckett boards (his "good friend Lyonel" which is not really the case) a few months ago got that Butler on eBay for a really nice BIN. Some other guys on the Beckett boards didn't appreciate it, and thought he was showing it off too much, and thus decided to run a picture of the card as an auction. Why they thought it was a good idea I'll never know.

Link to more of the story.
