A crown is equal to 5 shillings.

    Welcome to the Darkside!

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." -Luke 11:9

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." -Deut. 6:4-5

"For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us." -Isaiah 33:22
  • I have been trying PCGS to extend the British Section of the registry but keep hitting a brick wall!

If more members bombarded them we might get somewhere.

  • and since 20 shillings equalled a pound, that's 4 crowns to the pound. Krause's world catalog notes that crowns were sometimes also called 'dollars' -- perhaps in reference to the early 20th century exchange rate of four US dollars to a UK pound?

Hi Tony--I think I bought the coin from you. I love this coin!!!! Don
  • Crowns are neat coins that we will not see a registry set for in the near future.
I asked David about 6 months when he was going to add more British sets. He said it will happen eventually but there are other sets that need to be added. Translation=the Dark-side is not anywhere near the top of the list. Little does he know that there is enough interest in Dark-side to make it profitable for PCGS.
I am hoping now that Ron Guth is onboard, we will be treated as serious and knowledgeable collectors.
