You know what is funny, is how everyone is jumping on Vanderjagt because he missed the kick. Yup he sucks, he only has the highest percentage for fields goals made. But yet, noone is saying anything about Bettis. It was a great game right until the end. And Lothar, dont worry, you will be able to see the Eagles choking next season.
What's there to say about Bettis other than that he was let off the hook in a major way? I mean, that could've very easily been his last carry ever in the NFL, but a much larger goat emerged.

gemmintman - After the Jets beat the Colts 41-0 in the play-offs a few years ago in an interview Vanderjagt criticized Manning heavily for many things. When asked about the quotes from the interview Manning called him "an idiot kicker"
Vanderjagt and the Colts were lucky to even be in that situation. Bettis (big fan .. ND baby!) never fumbles, and prior to that the absolute worst reversal was called on Mannings pick.
After the Pats lost, I was actually pulling for the Colts so Dungy could get his Superbowl. But after than horrible interception reversal, I'm glad the Steelers held on. And, after Manning's pathetic dissing of his O-Line, I'm glad the Colts, Manning, and their "Idiot Kicker" are going home. Go Steelers!!

I suspect the rest of the team is not fond of him either right now. The atmosphere in the Colts locker room after the game will most likely be like a funeral. The sports reporters will want to ask Vandershank about the kick but the rest of the team will probably avoid talking to him.
At least the team won't have a long quiet plane ride home. They can clean out their lockers for the season and just get out of there.
