OT: 1900 William Jennings Bryan political button

As you may know (but don't care), in addition to coins, I collect political buttons. The main area I focus on is the 1896 and 1900 elections. In both elections William McKinley faced William Jennings Bryan and beat him. McKinley was assassinated in 1901. Bryan ran for president a third time in 1908 and was again defeated, this time by William Howard Taft. Bryan is also well known for his part in the Scopes "Monkey Trial" of 1925.
This 1 1/4" celluloid button was made by Whitehead & Hoag in 1900. It is listed in Ted Hake's "Encyclopedia of Political Buttons" as Bryan #144. The silver background reflects Bryan's "Free Silver" platform, there were McKinley buttons just like this with a gold background as McKinley supported the Gold Standard. These are among the most common Bryan buttons of 1900.

Very nice! I particularly like the condition of the reverse -- you can see where it was made.
