But on a similar note, how about some great NAMES and super action shots on the 51 Bowman set ??

We are quite lucky to have a link to Duner's 51 set via his prior post, and it is outstanding, pictures and comments on all cards, really enjoyable viewing, perhaps when I someday finish my 57 set ( about 70% now ) I will do the same. Check out a few "unusual" names;

Venton Yablonski, Fran Polsfoot, Tom Wham, Verl Lilywhite, Rebel Roy Steiner, Vitiamin Smith, to name a few.

My two favorites, and please check out Duner's great set for scans, are Visco Grgich, great name and a super facial expression on his card, also Zollie Toth who has quite the action shot to go along with his non-John Doe moniker.

On Tank's 1950 card the American Flag ( flowing in the breeze at the field where Younger is running ) near the bottom, adds a truly pleasing touch to the fine action pose. A really nice card.

Did anyone happen to upload the Tank ? I didnt get home in time to upload him , But i did find an icon I put in several months ago that I forgot about. It is of Jack Tatum standing over someone after a brutal hit, I am not a raider fan but have always been a big fan of heavy hitters, And not too many players hit harder than "the Assasian"

The 1975 Topps set was loaded with sweet action shots. I swear there was a card of somebody with a "woody" station wagon in the background, but I couldn't find it. I did find these while I was looking. By the way, probably showing my ignorance here, but what's the deal with Topps blocking out all of the logos on the helmets?

The Dan Fouts rookie card is pretty sweet too.

Finally, Topps didn't have the rights from the NFL to portray team logos until 1982. That's why all the helmets are airbrushed (along with some of the uniforms, such as the Chargers...the lightning bolts on the shoulders are also gone).
