I'm a newb, started collecting Morgans...the rules seem very valuable.

Does the appreciation of the metals affect the appreciation of the coins much? I would have expected coins to rise more than they have since silver has gone up 30% in the last 3 months.

    Any insight appreaciated...

This thread corn fused me. Did I do something wrong?

the confusion arises because I can't edit my posts.

evidently I brought it TTT back in December of 2018 for reasons I can't remember, and I usually PM the person I have named with an explanation. I also tend to either make a note in the TTT post or in the thread which causes me to bring this one up.

    Timeless...

    First coin purchase ever...

I walked into a Coin Shop and asked the dealer for those new fangled 1995 DDO's

He said wait until they come down in price.... In the meantime how about a Morgan Dollar?

Me... nope went back to library and found a dealer in Coin World and bought three raw DDO Lincolns for $200 each.

Sold them 20 years later for about $15 each.

I would add.... mistakes are part of the tuition we all have to pay.

Be relentless and keep looking, and keep learning about new series...

At the intersection of knowledge and hard work is a cherry pick of a lifetime that may fund something else or add to a collection.

    I would change #4 slightly.

    Rather...."learn how PCGS grades".

In your particular area of collecting, look at as many PCGS graded coins you can.

Supplement that knowledge with your own.

    It can only help.
