The weather has been perfect here to get out and dig. I've only got 1 more week until school starts so I'm trying to make the most of it. Yesterday I went back to a park I hit a while back. I've become much more proficient with my detector since then. Here is the park... I pulled a ring out from under the monkey bars... and I thought I had gone over that area before
Spent about 3 hours total out here and at another park right down the road. Found my first non-butterfly jewelery! At first I got excited because there was an emerald looking stone on the ring, but the ring is very low quality overall and is just costume. On the otherhand... I dug what appears to be an old earring from about 6 inches deep. I was surprised at how it had still retained some of its shine... could it be silver? I don't think its quite shiny enough, I haven't dug any other silver yet to compare it to. I will soon though... this park had yielded TWO Roosies from 1965! So close!! Still no wheaties yet either.
Here is the haul:
Pulled the three dirty quarters out of the same whole right before I left. Added nicely to the clad total!
Not sure about the small square object with the jewelery... a cufflink? The back is hollowed out (kind of rusty too) and has two thin protrusions. You can kind of see one of them bent out on the left side.
Also the large bracelet sized object made me think twice about not wearing gloves out here! Luckily I didn't poke myself though. Here is a closer shot of the good stuff:
Lastly... my little buddy had to come out to say "hi" and see what all the bright flashing is all about:

The little square deal is a stud like what would be put on a belt or pair of jeans or something as a decoration.

Always Looking for Raw Proof Lincoln Cents !!
Cool snake by the way! What kind is it?
Bottom right object in your "junk metal" section is an old harmonica reed. They are a very common find on 19th and early-20th century sites, so much so that relic hunter Ed Fedory once joked that Americans in the old days must have been required to own harmonicas as proof of citizenship! They're often a good sign of a site with some relic and/or silver coin potential.
WTG on the ring!
