tons o' unopened older wax on ebay

Hi everybody, 1st post. I have been reading alot of your guys stuff lately and trying to educate myself about unopened boxes and wax. Thanks for all the helpful info you post on this board! It helps alot to read your stuff and try and avoid making misteps along the way.

I'm a little suprised that no one has yet mentioned all the vintage wax boxes that ebay user 1vintage 1 is listing. Based on what ya'all have written in the past, I'm wary becasue of 1) No paypal 2) All of a sudden, a boatload of nice stuff 3) only pics of the box tops that may or may not be cropped. Note: I am not saying anything bad about the seller, but from reading all the posts, I kind of get a "caution" warning in my little hamster-fueled brain. Can you guys weigh in on this? Thanks! I sure would love to open that 1974 football box! (or even hold it in my hot little hands)

Why bother? Too many red flags for me. Unless I was in SC and actually picked it up, I wouldn't even throw in a lowball bid

The cropped photos don't inspire much confidence. Not worth it in my book...

Sigmaguy is no one you can base any facts on. The guy has had over 75 Ebay ID's that all end up NARU'ed. The guy will bid on anything and take over one month to pay without even responding to emails. Check out all of his retalitory feedback. I can supply an endless list of people he never paid and then left negative feedback to. The guy is a first class moron...........

Now, from my limited experience/understanding, there's only a few people one can trust on ebay and from internet sales.

My feeling? If it looks too good....RUN!!!!

Ah, first rookie mistake (an empty post!)

Anyway, Yeah, I knew that sigmaguy is pretty much full of crap from all the neg fb's he gets, and the main reason i learned that is by checking out this little goldmine of a tool that I'm sure most of you know about : http://www.toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?

But aside from sigmaguy's "resealed" opinion (which may or may not be valid, but It doesn't give me any warm fuzzys)
The fact is that 1vintage1 doesn't appear to have sold any vintage wax before, and now 10+ auctions of really good stuff? Again, I know Nothing good or bad about the guy, but I'm sure that the user names nedsk and paoutdoorsman would be proud of the MO, ya know? And the same ebay copy for all of them? I dig the part about being able to pick up and inspect, but I live in MN and wouldn't know enough about resealed stuff yet to even inspect it, unless it was super obvious.

I was so hoping that someone was going to say "this guy is alright , go ahead and bid" but your confirmations of wariness are more what i was expecting. Thanks guys and i sure wish i would have known about you all before i bought a 76 Topps Hockey Box from Ned last year! At least I'm learning, huh?
