The SMR on a '59 Aaron PSA 8 is $325. I think you did great.
Check the online SMR for prices. Depending on how well the cards present, you should be looking at ~75% of SMR

I think you did very well, and have some nice stuff there for sure.

The OC qualifiers kind of hurt but depending on just how OC they really are, you may still get a good price for them.

Looks like the 314 grader was nice to you on these. image (Unless they should have all been 10's)

Looks like a great submission to me.

I think those are some fine grades, anything 7 or above on the 1959 star cards should do good if you are planning on selling them. Though the OCs will go for quite a bit less. Did those OCs look too far off? Let's see some scans if you can.

  • Real Nice, the 59 Aarons PSA 8 are $400+ cards and the 61 Maris PSA 8 is a $500-600 card, even the Mantle PSA 6 is a $300+ card. You will do real well!

You did really well considering your first time to grade out. Congrats on a successful submission.

  • You got some really nice grades and some not so nice. Take a look at these when you get them back very closely and see if you can find the difference in why they received the grade they did (may need a 10x loupe). You can then use that information to determine which of the cards you have ungraded are worthy of grading. You can also count pixels on scans to determine if your 8 oc's will pass as 7's and resubmit. A lot of older collectors (collectors in general) are centering people. When you are dealing with vintage cards, alot of them have value in any grade. If you spend $6 to get a lesser card graded to a 6, it still may make sense to grade it. If you are in a hurry or want to sell quickly, you may want to submit the 7/8's at the 5 day special rate. Good luck!

From one Buckeye fan to another, those are pretty good grades! Congrats.

If you would at all be interested in dealing some of the extra 59's you have, or the 61 Maris (which I need for my set), let me know as I would be interested.

Nice job on the submission! You got a heck of a lot of 8's in there, and those should do quite well if you sell them.

The 5's probably have minor surface wrinkles in them.

    Dakota....

The cards are my dad's from when he was a kid. I've been after him for a few years to send some in and see what happens.

I'm a coin geek most of the time but most of those posts were utter nonsense in the open forum.
  • Goose,
Well that was an awesome submission.Multiple vintage HOFers in NM-MT. Congrats again

GOOSE - Since you submitted these and are a member, you can view the pricing via the SMR hard copy you get monthly or the online SMR. Granted some cards sell for lower, others for higher and others its right on the money. You should also view eBay completed auctions for your card #'s to get a feel what their current market value is.
Stating if you did good or bad is usually a hard call for someone else. Your costs will dictate that as much as the grade they rec'd. Since your dad had these lying around for quite some time, I say you did well, very well. If you had bought these all for top $ raw cards and paid high book, then some obviously didn't do that well. So its always the cost factor thats makes the final determination...jay

    Goose,

    Got any 1960 Topps?

    Shag

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

    don't know Shag.

If there are, we'll get to them sometime.

  • Great submission. That's $4,000+ worth of cards there.

Goose - no question. You did very well on these submissions.

I would recommend you study the slabbed cards carefully when they come in. Specifically, for this issue, try to determine what caused a card to be graded a 6 versus a 7. For subsequent submissions, you might want to avoid submitting cards that come back as 6 or less. Late 50s early 60s PSA 6s often sell for less than the exact same card unholdered.

we plan on keeping one or two of each grade to use as a "guide" for future submissions.

we spent some time last nite under a bright desklamp together rounding up 57 more cards that will be mailed this week. We were or tried to be very picky on this batch except for a few cards where a 6 and such were worthy of submitting. We really paid attention to the centering this time too.
