  • Just do it
  • Really?

    Are you sure?

    Hmmmmmm

But it will be worth so much more in the slab after this
grading frenzy devours all the unopened material.

    Open it huh?

I think I need more feedback.

  • If I bought an unopened pack off of a reputable dealer, I'd definately crack it. When I buy something slabbed, it'll just sit around and collect dust since you generally pay a premium for the pack. Sorry, but I dont think thats the answer you want to hear........
  • Short answer: Rip it!!!

Long answer: Step away from the ledge and put the pack away. If you've had it for any amount of time you've probably had a good reason for leaving it unopened. You're collecting that year, so it probably makes a nice piece to go along with your set.

This dilemma is exactly why I don't buy unopened-I really appreciate the stuff (especially the older you get), I just don't have the self control to own one.

    Bob:

Do not open it! With the type of mood you appear to be in one pack will hardly suffice.....you need a whole box.

I would leave it alone, but who am I to say. Last time I opened a pack was about 1976. I probably forgot what it feels like to do that.

Yeah, crack it. I wanna see how many cards the deteriorated gum eat through image

Keep it slabbed. 15 seconds after ripping it you'll be bummed you have wax and gummed stained, off center commons.
If you want to rip something run to Toys R Us or Walmart and buy a box and really rip thru some packs!

  • What are the standards they grade those by? Has anyone ever heard of one getting cracked to find something spectacular or is the mystique worth more than the cards?
