Any thoughts on the new Bowman Heritage?

I have not done much baseball in a while (with exception of Cracker Jack sets), but I picked up a pack of these last night and thought they were kind of neat. Just curious what others have to say about them.

The little insert cards that come with each pack are pretty neat, in a nostalgic kind of way. The other 7 that come with it are pure garbage........

I always prefer the original cards in high-grade. I just don't get all that excited with new cards using the old classic designs. Just my opinion.

Personally I think they did a really good job with the actual design of the set. The cards really do look pretty similar to the 51 design - the painted photographs are much smoother than other efforts, such as the 02 Topps Heritage. The centering on the mahogany (thick) cards is atrocious though. Also, I wish they hadn't used the same gimmick from last year. The 04 Mahoganies are each /25. The 05 mahoganies fall one per pack.

I know odd size cards are normally less popular but I like the smaller ones.

I will say that I don't care for the pictures...too cartoonish. I don't mind "artistic" highlights but not when the players look like Sponge Bob and Patrick.
