Sometimes I wonder why I bother

I could have swore the Jeter was a 9 otherwise I would have not sent it in. I don't know how I could have been so wrong there and the Damon rookie was pulled from the same box. I will now go hide in a corner and weep and wait for my new voucher from my re-upping of my membership.

Usually a 5 is indicative of a surface wrinkle. Odd considering the 93 SP's are thick card stock with foil. So my guess is there is a good bit of printing defects or there is some foil damage under magnification. Hard to say why it graded a 5 without seeing it in person. If you personally pulled the Damon, I would measure it up against the other cards from the same box and see if it's short. If it's really close (ie. <1/32" ) then I would consider resubmitting.

  • i'm continually amazed that psa keeps doing the "not holdered, does not meet minimum size requirements" on the 93 sp's. I've personally opened 4 boxes and submitted 5 jeters, 4 damons, and 2 mannys that have all been sent back with that excuse. How on earth can they keep doing it, when they are coming right from sealed boxes and sealed packs, into card savers and going to them. Its extremely frustrating.
  • I was so happy when I saw the Jeter that I thanked myself for using some latex gloves my tattoo artist gave me so I wouldn't leave any greasy finger prints or anything. That and the Damon barely saw the light of my office before they were penny-sleeved and card saver-ed(?) I would not have wasted my time if I thought the Jeter was anything but a 9.

    DaddyRich,
I hope this inquiry does not get me booted off the boards (you guys are so informative), but would you be
interested in selling the 1993 SP Derek Jeter PSA 5? Let me know. Thanks.

  • I doubt I'd have any problems being rid of it, just let me check it with my own lying eyes when it gets shipped back and I will PM you.
