<<what is your favorite carved coin that you have done???????????? >>
That is a really hard question! It changes as I change styles and improve. My "favorite" has been many coins - each replaced by a newer one. If I had to pick one at this moment in time, it would probably be: "Lazy Daze"
I usually keep some of my favorites in my sig line.
<< I'm glad you've still got them. When I heard of the Hobo theft at FUN I instantly thought of you. >>
I know both Keith Pederson & Owen Covert, really nice guys! From what I heard (here on the boards), Keith lost 2 1/2 years worth of carvings, and I'm sure Owen lost alot too. I know Owen had quite a collection.
I may be slightly unique in the fact that I can understand how it may feel to lose these coins. Each one is a unique piece of art. They can NOT be duplicated nor can you find a replacement. I have spent as much as 20 hours on a carving and there are many more out there which have taken longer to complete. This lost would be like building your dream home with your own two hands only to have it burn to the ground just after completion.
The real sad thing is - when the thief finds he can't move these easily, he may just toss them aside as a liability - it's a real shame something like that could even happen. I just don't get it.
