Lincolns are STILL fairly HOT...even on the affordable but TOUGH dates!

The Heritage auction last night brought the following hammer prices for two PCGS 66RD Lincoln Cents that I was watching/bidding on. Very surprised that the 48-P went for that kind of money...considering it was not a super PQ coin.

1948-P (Ron B.'s) $172.50 WJ
1951-P (Ron B.'s) $149.50 WJ

It was fun while it lasted...but I fell out of the bidding at around $120 per coin! Anyone here pick up either of those coins?

I have to agree that the prices are going crazy on early Lincolns. I looked at what I paid for my 48 and 51 a year ago. The 48 was $73 and the 51, $135. Not that this is any good news for you, just a comparison.
