Did PSA delete the $5 special for this month?

The only special I see now is the $13 special. What happened to the$5 1972-present sports/non-sports card special? Will they still honor that for those of us who were going to submit under that special?

  • I am not talking about the set registry special.
  • yeah whats up with that? I already sent in an order too. Under Jan CC special #2.

wow, this popped up in like 5 threads today. image

Looks like it's gone now. I was gonna print it off this morning too...darn it. (I assume you're referring to the $5/5 day modern special that lasted all of 2 hours this morning)
  • Since Jan 1 there has been a Collectors CLub Janurary Special #2 --1972-Present $5 per card no turn around time guarentee...I sent in my order on Jan 4th. They better accept it or the States attorney will be contacted Under the "Bait and Switch" law.
Figures, I never send in orders and now I send in about 50 cards under this special.

The set reg special still exists.

    LINK

They had a blurb in there earlier this morning that it was an "Approximate 5 day turnaround" but that has since been removed.
  • The CC Special number 2 had no min card number and no turn around times.

I sent mine in on January 2nd, which was the first day the PO was opened. I just checked my submission, and it was entered today.

I labeled it the January special #2. I sent in 30 cards which would qualify for the set registery special. I wonder what will happen? That is sorry of them if that special is no longer available.

  • anyone call PSA about this yet? I can't this second but WIll when I gt home tonight. Just checked my Jan Special # 2 and I only submitted 21 cards on the order. They have some splaining to do.

  • I haven't called customer service yet. I have called several times before, and never seem to get anywhere. Sometimes I really hate the thought of having to call them.

I talked to customer service a minute ago and they said it was a mistake that the $5.00 speacial was even offered. She also said that all subs. sent in before they removed the special off the website will be honored. I would call on all your orders just to make sure they are calculated properly. I know I will be.

    matt
  • thanks for the update. I will be calling them as well.
I imagine our orders will now really get thrown to the bottom of the pile. Expect the cards back sometime in April. image

Has anyone checked to see if there cards have been entered? I have, and mine was entered today.

    Shane

  • I checked USPS and they said they received them (Special #2)..PSA has not enterd them however (special #2). Thing is I sent in another order, sent in at the sametime and it also arrived today..PSA entered that order (under a different special).

  • So all of us that were going to submit under that special are screwed? Well that is just great. I think they should run another $5 1972-present sports/non-sportscard special next month to make up for their error. It took them nine days to figure out that they made an error???

They are running it as a registry special for the next 2 months but with a minimum of 25 cards.

I think its weak they took it down. But the registry special is still a good deal but has the minimum. I, for one, have only once submitted less than 25 cards so it won't affect me much. But it stinks for those that were planning on sending some in.

  • or those who sent orders in already with less than 25 cards. Lawnmowerman did say they would honor it but I still have to call.

Yeah, the reason I said call to make sure is because the girl I spoke to didnt sound to sure but she did say they would honor it. I recommend that once you see your sub has arrived, call them and make sure its being run under the $5.00 special.

I sent mine in today, BEFORE reading this thread, and I hope they will honor their special. I will be extremely unhappy after spending the time to package it up and the postage to mail it. Good test if PSA has any customer SERVICE!?
  • I dont understand. The special still appears on the home page.

Keith, the $13 special and the set registry special is there but they removed the $5.00 Jan. special #2.

  • The PSA registry set special is on the front page. Along with the Grading special. The one we are talking about was a Collectors CLub Special #2 ( 1972-present, no card min and no return times for 5 bucks). Its gone.

Looks like a similar special to me - just with a few constraints like 25 card min and $100 top value.
  • Some of mine got logged in today.

    Two Questions:

    1) Is the set-registry special not essentially the same as the "$5.00 CC-Special" was?

    2) If I know that I scre*ed up my submission forms - mixed cards not supposed to
be included - should I call/email customer service and try to get them to help me
fix the order, OR should I wait until they contact me?

    Thanks.

I was hoping to use the $5.00 special to send in a few crossovers (under 25 cards). I guess I am going to wait a little longer to send them in. I read on one of the posts that PSA repeats the specials. Does anyone keep track of the previous specials?

    Cher,

I hope so .. the stated difference was the min card limit and the max value. I meet the min card limit but not the remaining max value per card. We shall see as mine got sent out over the weekend. GL to all who have submissions on site or in transit!
Looking for a Glen Rice Inkredible and Alex Rodriguez cards

well, my first order for January is more than 25 cards, so it doesnt mess me up too bad.. but if PSA plans to require a 25 card minimum, they should make their submission forms at least 25 lines.. (yeah, i know the online forms are 25 lines, but not the ones they send you with your submissions)..

I guess a mistake is a mistake, 'IT HAPPENS', but to just take it off their Website without any explaination? That sucks! PSA said it was an error! But they displayed it online on their Website, so honor the damn special for all who request it, big fk-in deal!

    It just pisses me off!

Yeah, but when we make a mistake we pay for it. We can't get away with saying "oops, sorry - I didn't mean it." I sent my submission in on Saturday and they darn well better honor it!!! I'm not mad yet - but I'm darn ready to be if they try to reneg on it!

  • Hello,
This picture is still up on the PSA set regisrty.
    image

Is the bottom the one that everyone is talking about. 72 and later no minium, 5.00 each?
  • Twinsthreepeat
    no its not.

  • Update:

Just spoke with Customer service and they told me that they will honor CC Special #2 (1972-present, no min cards, no return time, 5 bucks)
If you have an order out there i would still call as soon as they receive it just to make sure.

    Good luck
    Chuck

  • Just to clear up a few things.

We did have some issues with how the specials went up this year.

All specials should be correct as they appear on the site as of yesterday.

The $13/5 Day is approx a 5 Day turn. It is not guaranteed. The maximum value per card on this special is under $500.

The 1972 - Present has a 25 card minimum, turn around times vary with demand and the maximum value per card is $100. Even on the bad graphic that has been removed stated under $100 and never stated under $500.
Any orders postmarked the 1st through the 9th (prior to the correction to the site) that were less than the 25 cards minimum required will be honored.

Any orders post marked from today forward will need to have the 25 card minimum.

    Thanks,

    Carol
