Let's see if the King will make his grand entrance. I can hear the trumpets start to sound.
Over the past 3 years I have been collecting '71 kelloggs football cards and here are a few things I can share with you about kelloggs cards.
1. These cards are prown to crack, especially 71's and 75's.
2. Kelloggs cards will curl over time if not stored properly! Taming the curl can be problem!
3. '71 kelloggs cards are the toughest to find! This was the only year that you could not send in for a complete set. These sets had to be put together one card at a time so each card has been handled at least once.
4. A hint from the King to me not long ago: Be careful shipping kelloggs cards during the "cold weather" season. The cold can crack them in shipping.
5. Store your kelloggs cards in a dry area at about 70 degrees.. The cold will crack them!
There was a good article in "Tuff Stuff" magazine last month on collecting kelloggs football cards. It was a good read for info. on 1970 and 1971 kelloggs cards.
Hope this helps!

Couple of things from my experiences collecting Kellogg's cards....
Never ever ship raw Kellogg's cards in the cold weather .... It will give new meaning to the old phrase Snap , Crackle and POP! I have yet to have a problem with slabbed Kellogg's but there is first for everything.....
When Submitting tilt the card and look very carefully for surface scratches (if present your card will almost definitely not do better than PSA 8) and minute cracks .
It's funny about 2 years ago if you did a search on EBAY you would have at least several hundred (and usually more) listed but when the bottom fell out and prices dropped most submitters (myself included) stopped submitting and listing. Now you will find less than 100 graded cards on EBAY on any given day and the raw market seems pretty quiet too... With PSA 's recent price increase I doubt we will see a dramtic resurgence in the market unless people rediscover them and prices firm up for auctions to somewher around the 12-15 range for a PSA 9 common. (Other than the 70,71 and 75 sets 8's are virtually worthless in terms of resale value except for certain HOF players and Pete Rose)
MAny collectors do not consider Kellogg's real cards as thy are plastic. Me personally I love them they are inexpensive, have tons of HAll-of-famers in them and come from my childhood. In addition they are a great place to start doing a sbmission so you can learn the ins and outs how to grade a raw card and move up to buying more expensive raw cards with confidence.
I have quite a few K cards in my EBAY Store....

There used to be a Kool-aid Jug that danced all the time when a Kelloggs thread was started. It was quite funny whenever the little guy came out. On a more serious note. Taske heed on the cold weather shipping on those 3-D cards. I lost 4 10's to cracking on the way back from PSA

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's
I have great memories of pulling those things out of cereal when I was a child, so I look at starting out a set or two as a personal thing, not as an investment. Knowing prices have dropped so dramatically is the best thing I could have heard since they arent something I plan on selling anyhow.
