Hi! I see that a new "set registry special" was added today. At first I thought that the difference between the current January special was that the "set registry" special goes through the end of February and requires 25 cards minimum. The January special has no minimum, and goes only until the end of January.

But, upon closer inspection, the new set registry special says "your grades will be available in approximately 5 business days". While they aren't guaranteeing it, is this special actually designed to be a quick turnaround special? Or do you think that is a typo of some sort?

I think it's designed as one last chance for people who want to get a bunch of cards graded and added to their sets before the May 31 Set Registry Award deadline.

I assume the grades will be available within 5 days, but your cards will not arrive back in your hands for quite some time.

Hmm, I hadn't noticed that the first time around. I'd print that off and highlight it with your submission. It's still not guaranteed though. I do know that if someone sends in cards now under that special and starts getting grades back in 5 days there will be a lot of pi$$ed off customers who have been waiting on the 72-Modern special w/ no guaranteed turnaround for over a month. (Myself included) But there's plenty of venting going on in different threads for that.

May 31st is a deadline? I thought it was in November?

The date was changed to coincede with the National Convention (pass out awards there).

I called customer service Friday to double check and it is the plan to try and have the grades available approximately in 5 days. I also have cards from the previous special that have been in for more than a month and they told me they are on track for 35 day turnaround. I guess the only difference is the 25 card minimum. I guess we should be excited about the 5 day turnaround and not worry about the past special.

I agree. I usually send in small lots, because the turn around is better. I was planning to send in several orders during January - of 10-15 cards each. But, given this new special I'll probably put together one larger order under the Feb special... if they are going to try for 5 days!

Not there anymore. The "5 day" blurb is all gone.
