Graded Autograph/card

When an autographed card is included in the population report - I am assuming the grade column that it falls under is for the card and not the autograph. Is this correct? If so - does it not recieve the MK qualifier? I have only seen a couple of these listed and it almost seems like they don't belong in the pop report but maybe they do. Rick

I think most people just opt for PSA/DNA to slab an autographed card as Authentic, but one can have the card graded, in which case the autograph does not result in an MK qualifier.

  • With regard to PSA/DNA cards, I believe only graded and authenticated cards appear in the population report. If the card is strictly slabbed as "Authentic", the card does not get put in the population report. PSA/DNA cards with an authenticated autograph can have a "MK" qualifer; however, the qualifer is only used for a pen or pencil mark that is not part of the autograph. For example, if the person obtaining the autograph wrote the player's number on the card beneath the actual autograph of the player, the card would receive a grade with a "MK" qualifer.

  • Mike - That makes sense to have it in the pop report when both auth. and graded. And that explains the "no MK" also. Thanks - - - Rick
