I think it was the 72-P.

I bought a 66 and a 65 in 1992 or 1993.

Well my memory still works. i looked it up, and the first 66 was a 72-P in 1993.

There were only two 1971-74 P Ike dollars graded as MS66 over 10 years, a 1972-P and a 1974-P.

In late 1993, I purchased (and still own) then pop 1 1974-P ms66 Ike in a Teletrade auction for about $700. It was the first pre-1976 P-mint in PCGS ms66 I had seen offered.

The 72-P sold in private treaty. I sold it. I bought a 65 and 66 from the maker. The 65 was better than the 66, so I used the profit from the 66 to buy the 65. The then 65 is know in my set as a rightfully graded 66.
