  • It's a sad day when your team loses. Lucky for me brady is 10-0 in the playoffs.
Eli will be better next year, just hope he doesn't mirror his brothers record in the playoffs

was a good day anyway. We arrived at the stadium at 7:30 AM, cooked breakfeast, lunch, mingled with many game day friends ........ and GREAT
weather to boot. Eli SUCKED today and the Panthers trampled all over the Giants Defense. So it goes .....

My friend and I leave for Chicago this Thursday and WILL be at the Bears / Panthers game courtesy of my cousin! Obviously I was hoping for a different matchup but a road trip is a road trip is a road trip imageimage

and eli carried on the proud tradition of the family by choking in big game circumstances...3 picks (should have been 4) and absolutely nothing resembling a rhythym on offense while Carolina's running game owned NY.

  • No excuses. Manning had a crappy game. Even if he hadn't with the Giants decimated linebacker situation realistically I did not think they were going to go very far. Injuries are what makes football so different than other sports. During a short 16 week timeframe a guy can get a major injury, and that is it, and he is out for the rest of the season. In baseball that same injury could mean being out for 1/4 of a season. In football it's the teams that have the most depth despite the injuries that come up big.

Manning will of course be back. Every team's fans with a good young quarterback "expects" them to be another Tom Brady and immediately win playoff games and Super Bowls. Tom Brady types are extremely rare as we know. It simply usually takes time for NFL quarterbacks to mature into being able to win playoff games and Super Bowls.

Its tough to pin the Giants loss on Manning. It was a team effort. The Panthers pass rush was all over him.

I hear ya and don't disagree. The way I've always analyzed NFL games is starting with the quarterback first. Then the O-Line and the D-Line of both teams. Of course all else comes into play also which is one reason I enjoy the NFL so much because of the variety of players, how they interconnect, and the various offensive and defensive play calling strategies involved. And then there is the situation with Palmer getting quickly injured today for the Bengals and a lot of the pre-analysis goes right out the window.

Yes..tough day. Too bad they couldn't pull it out in honor of Mr. Mara who is one of the greatest team owners who has ever been involved in a sports franchise.
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!

I can't disagree with that - everything I've read about Mara since he passed away speaks to his great character.

On the game, Manning was certainly terrible...but the whole team must take the blame. They were in a bit over their heads to begin with, but watching Burress not run hard on his routes, and watching the defense get run over by the Panther backs, you could just see the Giants didn't bring their "A" game. Even if they did, it might not have been enough.

LT must have been cringing watching the awful "tackling" that the Giants defense was attempting out there.
