I have an opportunity to buy the following three cards:
1955 bowman Yogi Berra
1955 bowman Hank Aarron
1956 topps Ted Williams
The high beckett value is about $900. Problem is, these cards are not anywhere near near mint.
They have rounded/worn corners and all have a crease. None have multiple creases and have to
be inspected closely to notice. But there is no ink or paper loss or anything really gross.
I was told by the person he needed the cash and would take $50 for the three. This person knows
nothing about cards, but the thing that made me wait was that when holding the two bowmans
next to each other, I noticed one was a sixtenth to an eighth bigger than the other. This isn't the type
of person that would consider trimming a card and the condition wasn't indicative that trimming
was an option. I'm 99.99999% sure they are authentic and untrimmed and even in their condition
are probably worth $50 (there's a 56 williams on ebay now with paper loss going for $46 and it has
a day left). But the two different sizes concerned me.
I've never had any '55 bowmans, is a slight difference in size common?? The three seem worth every
bit of $50 in any condition if they are authentic and untrimmed.
P.S. the '55 bowman Aaron is a good looking card, I'd never noticed it before, wish these I had an opportunity to buy were in PSA 7 shape instead of PSA 2 or 3 shape.

Thanks Steve.
As for "what can I lose"?? I guess only $50. Goes to show how little "extra" spending money
I have for this hobby. Wanted to make the right decision. Thanks again for the help.
Shawn.
But I am certain that cards from that era have some diference is size from the factory.
evenif that one is trimmed they are still worth that dough IMO

Like I said, they are certainly not beauties from a condition standpoint, but they were sure nice otherwise.
