Cards are graded but "being slabbed"

I called Customer "Service" today and was informed that my order was already graded but was "in the process of being slabbed." When I asked how long it usually takes, I was quoted, "Well, you did order this under the Modern service, so it will most likely be 35 business days." Now my cards were apparently graded in 2 business days, so my question is this:

How long does it usually take for your cards to be released after they're already graded? I thought grading was the part that took the longest.

P.S. I think that the CS reps at PSA/CU have formed a sort of union where they aspire to decrease the amount of phone calls through rudeness...

I think they answered you in that way as they did not want to get tied down to a specific date. I was not on the phone so I do not know what the tone was.

I would think that within a week after grading the slabbing should be done.

    Good for you.

So they have submitting specials and then talk down customers who use them?

    Bizarre.

    Loves me some shiny!
  • I was under the impression that the cards were graded then slabbed on the same (or next) day?

    Me too.

Steve, I guess it all goes back to my mother's classic saying: "It's not what you say, it's how you say it."

I agree JM that is why i said i did not hear the tone. you could have been answered in a polite manner, actually you SHOULD have been.

Thanks Steve, I hate to whine, it's not really in my nature. I just can't believe how these CS people are at PSA. Maybe card collectors are an annoying bunch of people? image
  • Once again, with such great customer service, I dont know why EVERYONE isnt submitting to PSA. (insert SARCASM here)

I think it goes grading , slabbing ,verification1 , verification 2 , then they post the grades . you should see them monday or tuesday at the latest

I hear that GAI is just fantastic, never loses cards, never has unexplained months-long delays, or acts condesending or rude when you call them on it either. (insert Major Sarcasm HERE)

i had this posted under a different thread for fun---

<< Please press 1 followed by the # sign for--" Your cards are in the process of being graded"

Please press 2 followed by the # sign for--" Your order was placed on the problem shelf. No one has contacted you?"

Please press 3 followed by the # sign for--" We are currently looking for your cards, but we can't find them right now,. Please check back later."

Please press 4 followed by the # sign for--" Your cards are in the sealing process and will then go into the final staging"

They could save a ton of money with payroll by simply adding these as taped messages >>

    forgot the most important button:

Please press 5 followed by the # sign for -- "Hang the phone up clone. No matter how crappy we treat you, you will still remain a customer"
