Is the date on the farthing on the obverse or reverse?

It's more likely the reverse, which makes it a bronze farthing, which is common.

The next question is whether it had a beaded border or a toothed border (assuming it is bronze). A picture would help, then I can give you a value.

Beaded border: the beads are separated from the rim.

Toothed border: the beads touch the rim and look more like teeth.

The beaded is $53 EF and $158 BU

The toothed is roughly $45 EF and $140 BU.

I think Spink's EF prices are very optimistic.

There is also a rare variety of the 1860 farthing referred to as a toothed/beeded border. One side has a toothed border, the other has a beeded border. Off the top of my head I cannot recall which border type is on the obverse.

The obverse of the rare mule is toothed and the reverse is beaded.
