Thanks steve, I was really excited to get the best presented set. I hope it draws others to collect VAMs. I've got a bunch of coins to add but eventually I want it to be an online reference to help beginners look up VAM features. For those that didn't see it:
Back to your tailbar, I could tell it was a nice coin. You can see the flow lines of the metal meaning it was a nice MS. Sweet. You'll have to get the scarface from someone else cause mine's not going anywhere until it sells in my estate!

That last one looks way better than a 62! You be sure to make PCGS get it right the next time.

1884 CC Pinned wing
Here's an 1882CC with a pinned wing that Steve Strong (DWSSWS) and I found on two different 82CCs. Leroy revised the VAM for it.

When I got the tailbar they also had a 64 Dmpl in their personal collection (should be 65) which I couldn't pry out of their grasp
At your estate sale will it be priced or will we get a chance to rip it
by the way how are you feeling?

and would this classify as a meaningful die crack, now all I have to do is remeber what coin it is on and whether I still have it

And the one below is kind of a "wannabe" hangnail.
You'll notice the hangnail isn't in the seventh tail feather like the one above.
I think this is on an 1882 O/S because of the pitted dies.
(I really should take some time and go thru my coins to see what I have).

The technical term is "eye-boogers," but yes, she does, and that's one of the diagnostics.
