I have a feelings some record prices could be set for the series.

    Gosh, two of the sharpest Liberty Nickel collectors selling within months of each other. First Regner and now Friend. With the smart money leaving Liberty Nickels, who's left? Maybe there's a message here for the rest of us Liberty Nickel collectors. Maybe I should be running for the exits also, eh? image

    But heck, I really, really enjoy the Liberty Nickels. So the smart money notwithstanding, I'm going to attend the darned auction, weep for the loss of a fellow fanatic, and bid on one or two of his coins.

    Bye, bye Dale. It's not going to be nearly as much fun with you out of the Liberty Nickels. Some of those head-to-head contests we had were painful -- especially the one or two I won. But win, lose, or draw, all those head-to-heads are fun to look back upon.
