Dark copper from CIVITAS in hand (pics)

Received the 1858/7 halfpence from Josh today.
This is definitely an attractive coin, but it is bizarre.
I can see how you initially thought it might be a proof; the fields have a mirrorlike quality to them and there is lots of contrast between device and field. If it weren't for seeing the copper edges, the steel coloring and toning almost makes it look like an off-metal strike.
The higher-res pics do reveal a few flaws not readily apparent in the initial pics, but I'm still pleased with the coin. It's quite unusual.
The second set of pics are slightly overexposed; the coloring almost makes it look like a half crown (design notwithstanding).
Third picture shows the nice clean overdate.
Thanks for the coin!

<< <i>Great pics, what kind of camera are you using? >>
Bargain basement stuff compared to what the pros here are using.
Olympus Camedia 7070 ($340 on special from Dell). No extra lenses. A single Ott Light.
I'd love to get the setup the Cosmicdebris has, but I just can't justify $1,500 for an SLR + macro lens, let alone what lighting he may use. I dream of taking pics like that... *sigh*

Kudos to Josh.
I've always loved your pictures and I must confess that I'm always eager to open your new threads with new pics in it.
You really got that camera at a bargain price, in Germany you would have paid the double price for it, if it was available!
