Registry Point Question???

I have a question on my Modern Silver Dollar Commemorative Set. I have the following MS70 Coins with the following point values:

1991-1995 World War II (2) points

2002 Salt Lake Olympics (1) point

2002 West Point (1) point

2005 Marshall (0) points as not yet required.


My overall point value is 69.03. My question is I think it should be 69.04 as I have (4) extra points not counting the 2005 coin. All other coins are MS69 so it seems to me I should have a score of 69.04???? I will be the 1st to admit that I don't fully understand the point system????

Can anyone explain this to me?

    GrandAm,

    Congratulations on your set, I have been working on that set with my daughter. Regarding your set and score question. The correct score is 69.03. Since the 2005 coin is not required is does not factor into the set rating yet. Assuming that the 2005 coins will be weighted at one point each, when they are required your score will indeed be 69.04 as you thought it should be.

    Congratulations on the fine season your Colts have had and good luck in the playoffs. I would like to see them in the Super Bowl against my Seahawks, this time all the starters get to play and Dungy gets to coach.

    Thanks for your input and for the congrats on MY COLTS!!!! YOUR SeaHawks have had a pretty good season as well. If it comes down to The Colts and SeaHawks would you like a little "side bet" on the game. Maybe I could put up a Modern Commemorative that you may need for your set. PM me a link and I will check-it out.

    I still have a question, I have (4) extra points NOT counting the 2005 coin:

    Why is my score 69.03 and not 69.04????? I have e-mailed Set Registry but no reply as of yet.

    Hey GrandAm,

    I have just entered your set in my spreadsheet and the 69.03 is correct.
    The actual calculation is as follows:

    53 coins are currently active
    The sum of the weights for these coins is 119
    The sum of the grades multiplied by the weights is 8215
    Therefore, you divide 8215 by 119 and you get 69.033613 or 69.03

    Once the 2005 coins are accepted, your rating will be 69.04
