As some of you know from my scans I buy BGS as well as PSA. It seemed in the past Beckett would be very strict with their grading standards. I sent them an email earlier basically letting them know how I feel about their quality as of late. Here it is:
Hi, I am going to try and give Beckett grading some feedback regarding the product it is putting out. Sometime last year I sent an order in and one of my cards was damaged while in Becketts possession. The grading department agreed and gave me a refund for the value of the card. I was told it was a "rare" occurrence" that this had happened. The bottom edge of the card was snagged on the soft inner sleeve while the installer was putting it in. Recently I purchased a graded card # 0004026267 and received it today. The same thing has happened to this card as it did to the one I sent in. The installer snagged the bottom edge of the card and to put it nicely the card looks like an 7 rather then a 9.5. I paid for this trusting in Becketts grading service and it has let me down again. So I just have to ask, do you guys even care anymore about the quality of the products you are putting out? It seems to me you don't and just would rather put out quantity as opposed to quality. I am sure this email will just get lost or deleted, but it still doesn't change the fact that Beckett's work is clearly suffering.
Thanks for your time,
Now, I am sure the grader did his job and sent it along to be slabbed where the installer damaged the card. It still puts the company as a whole in a bad light. I know PSA and other companies have this sort of problem as well but it seems with Beckett its happening alot more often. You can make out the damage on the bottom edge just above the "B1" on the case. It looks minimal on the scan but sitting here looking at it its really obvious.
