    the team (-) the number posted (the spread) is the favorite by that many points. so for example you can choose new england 's final score -8 points beating jax's final score... or jax's final score +8 points beating new england's final score. if new england wins by 8 then both sides push (no win no loss)

    at first i wondered why the bengals were an underdog, but if you look at both team's w/l record at home and away - they both did better on the road! so much for home field advantage. the giants are pretty damn good at home - i like them to win.
