Lotsa pics of some of the stuff from my Gilman trip...

Finally got around to photographing some of the coins I picked up on my trip to Gilman, IL in mid-December. Not necessarily valuable coins, but also some that caught my fancy either due to their design, toning, or state of preservation.

Lotsa pics, so my apologies to those on dialup. image
  1. Reunion 5 Francs, 1955.

  2. Jersey 1/12 Shilling, 1888.

  3. French Oceania 5 Francs, 1952.

  4. Germany 2 Pfennig, 1874 A.

  5. Germany 1 Pfennig, 1887 A.

  6. Germany 1 Reichsmark, 1935A.

  7. Germany 1 Mark, 1910A.

  8. Great Britain Farthing, 1876 H. Guess I shoulda broken out that can of compressed air, huh?... Then of course there's the cat hair on the obverse... adds character. image

  9. Great Britain Farthing, 1868. Ditto.

  10. India 1/12 Anna, 1862.

  11. New Zealand Shilling, 1935.

  12. Guernsey 8 Doubles, 1889.

  13. Canada Confederation medal, 1927.

    imageimage

  14. New Brunswick Halfpenny Token, 1843. This one is weird; looks like it's painted or plated somehow...

    imageimage

  15. France medal, 1898. Not sure what this commemorates exactly... looks to be a souvenir from the visit of a prominent member of the Department of Education?

  16. Hawaii 1/2 Dollar, 1883.

  17. Slovakia 10 Korun, 1944.

  18. Slovakia 20 Korun, 1941.

  19. Denmark 2 Kroner, 1923.

  20. Bolivia 50 Centavos, 1942. Cheap coin, but I just love the even red-brown color...

  21. Hungary 10 Filler, 1918. Proof Restrike.

    imageimage

  22. Hungary 20 Filler, 1921. Proof Restrike.

    imageimage

  23. Hungary 20 Krajczar, 1868. Proof Restrike. The Ott Light really exaggerates the toning on this one...

    imageimage

  24. Fiji 1 Shilling, 1936. A lovely example of this type...

    imageimage

  25. Austria 6 Kreuzer, 1849A. Common coin, but nice toning...

    imageimage

  26. French Colonies 5 Centimes, 1828A. I have a hard time finding French Colonies pieces in decent grades; most are G-F. Spot on reverse notwithstanding, this one is quite attractive...

  27. Finland 1 Markaa, 1915. This one is still "hermetically sealed" in an older heavier gauge plastic. Since it's airtight, I see no reason to remove it. Absolutely brilliant and flashy.

  28. France 10 Centimes, 1892A. Not a tough coin, but this one is just lovely.
