I was going to say the same thing. I had purchased some cards from him a while back and this doesnt add up...........

I agree, something seems odd here given his other active auctions as well as his completed auctions. His auction which ends immediately prior to the run of "one random sports card" auctions is a PSA/DNA Aaron rookie. Hmmm.

Probably listed them so that he could back and edit with legit auctions. May not have had time to list 42 auctions in full on the 27th for ten cents each but thought maybe he could get back and fix them the next day. For $4.20, you can always take the chance and use them as placeholders. eBay doesn't charge you to bump up the start price as long as it's listed during the promotion.
