Why did you choose the avatar you have?

Always interesting to hear why you chose the photo you did to represent yourself. I don't have one yet, but am thinking of my options.

Also, what are some of your favorite ones from the board?

    Really? Me too.

I'm kidding actually, but I do consider Morrissey to be about the pinnacle of cool. I also went back and found some of my old icons. I think the hippy was the first one I ever used. And I'm pretty sure the next three are all now associated with other users.

    imageimageimageimage

And I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge my day or two as SpongeBob. For a short time, almost everybody here changed his icon to Mr. SquarePants to antagonize one of the long-lost CU forum legends. FatCat, maybe? Hopefully somebody here can help me remember the person and the context of the situation.

With all due respect Rip, I for one am very glad to hear this news. It will make it much easier (for me anyway) to eat while reading these boards. Any chance you're going to do anything with that signature? image

Naw. As long as it's 100% human (or 100% animal for that matter), it'd be fine by me. It could be Condoleeza, Hillary, Berk Ross, anyone . . . image

By the way, to answer the original question, mine is a reflection of my technical skills (well, that added to the fact that I didn't want to use one that was already taken).

I had the Chicago Zephyrs image logo for a while and wanted to change to Nathan Vasher Because the Bears are playing so well and he is having an awesome year coming out of nowhere. And it is a great picture with Urlacher and Tommy Harris celebrating right in front of Farve aftre a pic was reterned by Vasher for a TD.

I think I may be going back to the Zephyrs logo after the Bears Playoffs.

  • I chose mine because I was a Pete Rose fan growing up. I suppose this picture best represents my memories of how hard he played the game.

Today I'm still a fan of the player, but not of the person. He's not the kinda guy I'd wanna hang out with.

  • Todd, my grandma used to love Pete Rose. Ever since I can remember she always had one of his cards on her fridge held on by a magnet. I know a scary sight to a card collector.

I chose mine because he is probably the funniest character on television of the last 10 years. For those of you that don't know, he is Ricky Gervais from "The Office". Not the new NBC hit show, but the original British version. I'm not into British TV or even British comedy in general too much, but this stuff was fantastic.

Prior to establishing my own business, I spent 25 years as a Director for a few major consumer products companies. Because my name is Callahan and my family heritage is NYPD.... my business peers, people who worked for me and friends used to bust on me by calling me "Dirty Harry" or "Inspector Callahan" because I could be a pain in the ass with my expectations, tactics and demeanor.

The nickname has stuck, so I selected same handle and the associated avatar of the magnum....because I am technologically
handicapped at don't now how to insert a different one. Either way, it works fine for me.

Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!

Since I love The Simpsons so much and I always seem to be changing diapers or helping with homework (2 seperate kids, just in case anyone was wondering) when icon upload day rolls around. I guess I should choose one that doesn't make me look like a big drinker - haven't touched the stuff in years.

If you lived in Sacramento you would be a big King's fan too! One team means year round sports talk, newspaper articles, water-cooler talk, etc.... "We" analyze every potential trade year round, still talk about close games from the past, etc.... I have lived here 15 years so am well versed on all things KING'S! Yes, I am still holding out hope for a good season.

I wanted a Mantle, but I didn't want it to be a card. Thanks to the person who left the statue. I assume it is a Hartland. My dad was a fan of the Mick and he used to tell me great stories of his exploits on the field. He left out the stories of his exploits off the field!
