Reholder question

I have some PCGS coins that were graded using the old green label. If I were to send those coins in for "reholder" service, would they create a new label as well? Or, do they just move the coin and old label into the new slab? Thanks.

It would get a new label that they are using now.

  • I also have coins to be reholdered. Is there a minimum number of coins you must submit for this service?

    No minimum.

You can ask to keep the old number if you want to keep the old number. If you don't ask I think you get a new number.

For PCGS, I've always gotten the old #, except in a few cases (when older holders where being reholdered), a "0" was added at the begining of the #. I never asked for the old #, they automatically gave me the same (old) #.

  • More to the point, even though green labels in SOME series tend to get a price premium, PCGS will not reuse your old green label---image

Same thing for me. Never received a different number on a reholder.
