Home Metal Detecting

Dec05

I was able to get out 3 days this month, in between the snow, rain, and freezing temps, for a total of 4 hours. Tried three new sites hoping to fine the elusive, larger than dime, silver. No luck, but found a couple cool things, and I got my fix. This 'beep' junkie will be content for another week.

December 2nd The golf course.

Also found a 1952 dime here along with many bullets.

December 24th The runway hill.
1867 Shield nickel... my first.

Also found many bullets here.

December 30th The site I call Bullet Island

Didn't dig many bullets here, but they were there. Didn't want to carry 10 pounds of lead today so I only dug what sounded like 'Not'bullets.

Awesome finds as always!! Very productive in the "good stuff" department too, for a total of four hours.
Great looking half dime! It's a shame it isn't a year older.. image

Edit: I also very much like the look of the Mercury dime!
Minelab: GPX 5000, Excalibur II, Explorer SE. White's: MXT, PI Pro

Those large date numerals on the half dime are cool. Looks like they used the numeral punches for a dime.

I agree with the others....very nice half dime!

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
