Should I warn the bidders of this fake OPC Gretzky rookie?

if that 98.2% feedback doesn't set up a flag nothing will. dumb question just because it is graded by GEM it is a fake? thanks

No, I wasn't looking at just the holder, although I don't trust anything in a GEM holder based on personal experience.

Look at Gretz's left shoulder. The yellow dot (printing defect) that appears on the genuine OPC Gretzky is missing. This card is a reproduction.

Dumb questions: How do you know it's a fake? and
How can "Gem Elite" sell its own cards (the one's they grade, that is). Isn't that a conflict of interest??

The other two tell tale signs are his skate laces (very blurry on the fakes) and the Oilers logo bottom right corner. (the bottom of the letters blurr together on the fakes).

Gem needs to do their homework.

I sent this thread to the high bidder a couple of days ago, but a few other people have placed a higher bid on it since. Is there somebody at eBay that can be notified of this? I mean, the card is an obvious fake and exhibits all the known red flags attributed to the counterfeit version. This scam seems just so flagrant, it's hard to believe.

Brian, I notified Ebay that the item in the auction is a fake. We'll see if they pull the auction - they usually do. Ebay isn't known for needing proof of anything.

It should be gone in the next 24 hours.

I just sent this to the seller. Hopefully he has morals...

This card is a reprint and you should list it as such or pull it. If you were ripped off you should take it up with the guy who sold it to you, not rip someone else off. Please do the right thing.

the guy who owns gem elite just grades his own cards & sells them.

he receives no submissions!!!!

Thanks for the heads up guys.

I was the high bidder early on and got messages from other ebay members about the card.

I heard from someone years ago that there are some real gretzky RCs that have no yellow stain. Also I was wondering about the blue lines on the back. Aren't there some real Gretzky rookies without these lines?
