1966 Irish 10 Shilling - Opinions/Comments

I have been looking for one of these for quite a while now. Most I have seen have been either toned or with scratches.

This one looks pretty good to me, and under $20.

What do y'all think??

The guy on the coin is Padhraic Pearse, a leader of the 1916 Irish Easter Rising.

They are not rare, however, many were melted and this coin seems to have gained in popularity. I would look for a GEM example... they are around but not as cheap as they were 20 years ago.

I've had the proof and the unc versions since the late 60's and I love'em. I know they haven't gotten too much more expensive; however, between the extensive melting, the scarcity of unmarked, high grade specimens as well as the subject matter, I believe that these coins still have great potential to be a great 'investment'.

It'll surely take a chunck'o'change to pry them outa my collection...
