Just curious about this guy. I won an auction on the 18th, paid when I received correct invoice on the 19th and then got a note later the cards were shipped on the 20th. I have not gotten them yet. Obviously being the Christmas season and all things might be delayed but what worries me is the sellers reply to my email. I asked how they were shipped and if I could get a tracking#, etc because I had not gotten anything yet. His reply "they were sent. you did not include insurance. I am not responsible for uninsured items'. Like hell he isn't. He has to proved he actually mailed them, insured or not. Wouldn't you guys agree? Perhaps I am getting ahead of myself but his short snotty reply to my question was not expected and makes me wonder. I won auctions for 8 more cards on Dec 25th but am most certainly not paying for those until I receive my other cards. Any thoughts?

But mail is slow this time of year so keep your fingers crossed. I do find it amazing that insured items get lost about 0.000001% of the time, but uninsured items from sellers with low feedback get "lost" about 10% of the time.
BTW,
Shawn.
I also don't believe the mail is that slow. Unless the cards were sent parcel post or media mail. That can take up to 10 business days. But if such is the case, the seller should tell you that. Otherwise, if your cards really were mailed on the 20th, priority mail would have absolutely gotten to you by now. Same goes for first class mail. First class mail cross country (even at this time of year) only takes 3 or 4 business days. The mail is simply not that slow (and no, I don't work for the post office).
You obviously sent your payment fast--the least the seller can do is respond with constructive information. I'm not necessarily advocating this, but if you did pay by paypal, initiate a complaint. THAT will get the seller's attention. Then the seller will have to provide tracking info (if he has it). I agree with a previous post--as far as Paypal is concerned, insurance is a non-issue.
I'm not trying to bash sellers. But I do think you should have your cards by now or an explanation as to when you can reasonably anticipate receiving them.

BTW thanks for the welcome to the board. I've been collecting off and on since 1981 and managed to accumulate about 150,000 cards and am looking forward to sticking with it from now on and using this board as a valuable resource.
I am also a frequent buyer as well as seller on ebay. A postal receipt is the best anyone can provide if the buyer did not pay for insurance or delivery confirmation. What else do you expect the guy to provide? The buyer takes the chance if insurance or delivery confirmation is not included. Just be wise who you buy from and that their reputation is respectable.
