    Although winning this award is not as good as an Oscar, I would say that it is on par to winning the Peoples Choice Award.

    If people were asked who the most annoying sportscaster was, they'd probably say Cosell.

    Whenever you have a strong opinion and aren't afraid to strongly believe in it, it's gonna piss people off.

    While Axtell does love a lively debate, I see this list as more clearly a detailed description of mr Joe Stalin. He is the one that does each and every one of these things on a habitual basis. Some may think he is cute, but Joe gets my vote for most annoying for sure.

    I am really surprised that Ax is leading by a 3:1 margin. IMO nothing is more annoying on this board than Spammy's flooding of the boards with trivial Yankees drivel. I suspect we have a lot of alts voting. image

    Howard Cosell graduated Phi Beta Kappa from an Ivy League university, edited the law review in law school, practiced law successfully for years and rose to world fame as a sportscaster through sheer determination. Along the way he became friends with sports legends from Willie Mays to Muhammed Ali. In short, Cosell was a seriously intelligent and talented man who knew more about sports than all but a handful of non-athletes ever have.

    And he was annoying.


    Now, imagine Cosell doing all the same broadcasts but with an 8th grade education, a complete lack of common sense, no insight into any sport whatsoever, and a hostility to his fellow man that would make Charles Manson ask "what's up with that jerk?"; then - and only then - can you begin to see yourself as most of the others on these boards see you. It ain't pretty, and the word "annoying" is woefully inadequate.
    This is for you @thisistheshow - Jim Rice was actually a pretty good player.

    He also I believe was either a Captain or a Major (Ret) from the US Army. ( Cosell, not our most annoying entity).

    The only reason that Spammy is not way ahead as most annoying is because this is not baseball season. If it were, with him inundating us with his repetitive, annoying Yankee-worshipping messages and trivia, he would be getting a LOT more votes than he is.

    Steve, I'm all good with anybody believing what they believe. BUT, who is the real SPAMMY of these boards? How about that! Axtell relentlessly has SPAMMED this board with anti NY bull$hit since I arrived in this forum and for who knows how long before that.

    I think I might have started LESS than 5 threads about NY sports. Thats it, all i do here besides that is combat the PROPAGANDA spread. Then, I get labled as spewing NY is all great in everything, when IN FACT, I have NEVER debated like that.

    Any poll I started Ax ALWAYS left a positive choice in it. You know a FAIR and BALANCED poll. Unlike the biased garbage that is typical of your posting habits. And the results of those polls were the same as this one.
