Opinions on the best holders for vintage cards?

What is your opinion on the best holders for odd size vintage cards out there. Given that "grading and slabbing" is probably the "best" what's a good alternative for those of us who don't really get all our cards graded? More specifically, do you think that my cards like 1909 T-206's, 1933 Goudey's, 1941 Play Balls are best kept in non-recessed/4screw screwdowns? (I've been using Ultra-Pro's) If not what is a better holder? Should they be in soft sleeves or not if these types of holders are used?
And for standard size cards the same question basically. I've been using both the recessed/4 screw/ diamond corner (Ultra Pro) and the Pro-Mold/recessed/Diamond corner/1 screw's. Is there a better one?
Any help or opinion you might be able to give me would be greatly appreciated.

First, welcome!!!
Now, my first question - will you be displaying the cards or just storing them?
For storage - I prefer the semi-rigid holder like the ones that PSA prefers - placing them in a good penny sleeve is also a good idea altho I don't usually take the time to do it.
