Clemens and Boggs in a Yankee uniform did not look right at FIRST either. I was not around in the 1920's but I bet the same could be said of Ruth also.
I don't know why but all day long the song "Johhny Angel" has been playing in my head. That would be suited more if he had gone to the Angels. LOL
By the way my daughter said Johnny Damon is HOT. Just what I need, a pre-teen with hormones.

Get used to it. Notice the pinstripe shirt Johnny wore underneath

You mean you thought to yourself he was hot?
No wonder you have the rainbow icon now, spammy.

Clemens did not go from a boston uni and a championship and a book about how great it is to be a sox, to pinstripes. BIG difference.
I guess it wasn't so great anymore. Damon did mention at the press conference that one of the deciding factors was that the Red Sox were breaking up the team. I am sure he was not so happy about Theo leaving also.
"Damon's voice filled with emotion at times and it got even softer than usual. He talked about what he perceived as indifference by Boston's front office and how pleased he was by New York's pursuit."
Yankee clipping to get the job of the Yankee Clipper
He has a fine looking wife too:
I am not sure who is prettier.

Duh. Jeter.

Yep - the rainbow sure fits.
Last year he was infatuated with a 'big unit', this year he's broken out the rainbow and been talking about how 'pretty' Damon is.
I think spammy's opened the closet door...that's where he's been hiding since last fall.
And let's not try to hide for a second what this was about. This was not about the yankees pursuing Damon more. This was not about 'indifference' by the bosox front office. This was all about GREED plain and simple...he wanted the most money. Hey I don't begrudge anyone for taking top dollar (I still am not bitter at Arod signing for $250 million)...but to say it was about which team pursued you more? Pure CRAPOLA.
And his daddy saying this is the biggest signing since Babe Ruth? Damn someone needs to lay off the sauce.

<< <i>The Sox fell asleep at the wheel, the Yankees stole him under their nose. Damon was offered more money by the Orioles and a fifth year too. The propaganda that flys from axtell's trap never ceases to amaze me >>
What propoganda might that be?
He's on record as saying it's not about the money, yet it *was* all about the money. I don't care that he took the bigger payday, but for him to say otherwise is a load of s***.
If you look at every one of Scott Boras' clients, every single one of them have gone for the max payday. It's not tough to see this wasn't about who pursued him more, or the red sox taking the team apart, it was about this greed SOB getting the max money and then saying otherwise.
Enjoy your gimpy armed center fielder.

Agreed. They already paid up for another Boras client (Varitek), so they were probably not going to go higher than $11 mil per for Damon. This frees up that money for other players, so let's wait and see where things stand after the dust settles, and evaluate from there.
