PSA 10, "buy it now" for $4? Why even submit it?

On eBay, 4-sharp-corners has a bunch of PSA 10's listed for a "buy-it-now" price of $4 each. ??? They've got a lot of 2005 cards too. What's the point of sending a card in to be graded if you're gonna flip the PSA 10's for less than the grading fee? Modern bulk is $6 each, nice specials are $5 each, what's going on?

Maybe he's getting a pretty juicy deal from PSA for "preferred customer" bulk submissions?

  • and so begins the downfall of the market!! It will be mostly on newer cards 80's and 90's..but that's the way it's starting to fall..

People make the big $$ on the 10's and then give the rest away to turn their bank roll....to grade to get more 10's....
He makes up the difference with his crazy S&H charges...but not enough to make it worth his while.. (i.e. - $8.95 for 6 graded cards then 25 or 50 cents each after that.......Heck, you can mail over 100 graded cards flat rate for $7.70.....get on the bus!!)

Give cards away and make free money on S&H...the final outcome is that it will affect the overall value of ALL sets...
Say you have a 660 card Donruss set totally graded 9's and 10's....at even $5 a card..the set should be worth $3,300 right!!??!!
Not if these clowns keep dumping on the market and sell sinlges for $1 or $2.....people don't look at the S&H and sooner or later they start to think that the $1-$2 for a PSA 9 should be the "norm"...
    At that point, why bother!!

Next thing you know you've got $3,300 into a set (if you submitted it yourself)..and due to the new martket..it's worth $1,500

    Great business sense...NOT...

I think 4 sharp gets a deep discount i.e. 2 to $3 per card. Particularly for the modern stuff.

As was said - I think they get a discount.

But also consider - perhaps they bought a "bulk" lot - they separate out the good and dump the average stuff just to get rid of it.

Why should a set be worth "thousands"? Because someone spent thousands of dollars in grading fees? If you're putting together a garbage set like 1988 Donruss in PSA 9s and 10s, the last thing you should be worrying about is resale value.
