POLL: Proposed Changes to Buy Sell Trade Boards

I propose these boards be split into three areas:

Wanted
For Sale/Trade
For Auction

I often come here to look at what is for sale HERE... I search e-bay separately. I need to sort through all the wanted and auction thread to find the threads that are even for sale here subjects. I also sell on occaision. I would prefer people looking for coins have an easier time finding my offers.

This has been suggested and supported in other threads. Please respond to the poll to state your preferences.

Yes,but there is so much great stuff I have up for auction(like Rainbow Morgans) that I just have to let everybody know about!

Get rid of the ebay spam. Since that was not an option, I did not vote.

I'd agree with the above -- if I want to know what's on ebay, I'll go to ebay. Since that was not an option, at least put it on its own board so I don't have to sift through it. I like to know what is for sale here.

For the most part I ignore the Ebay titles. It would be much nicer to separate those out or forbid them. There aren't too many WTBs so they don't warrant a separate board. Someone needs to sticky the rules at the top (one post per day per member).

What is near the line is someone posting a "guess the grade" or "what's your opinion" and then posting the coin for auction. That is self-promotion under the guise of being a board member. Personally, I don't care for it, and would like it gone.

Get rid of the Ebay stuff, I can search for what I need on Ebay by myself. This may encourage people to offer items to members first. I'd also like to see a rating system for the users since sometimes I want an item but not knowing who these newer users are I don't pull the trigger.

See, I don't mind the for sale on Ebay threads, as long as they mention Ebay in the title. Even if they don't, I don't get all hot and bothered though. Way too much on my plate to worry about this sort of thing I guess.

Plus, I don't know half the board members user ID's for Ebay, and wouldn't know if they had anything I might be looking for unless they posted something here. I don't look on Ebay, unless something specific is mentioned, then I take a peek.

I like to advertise my Ebay coins here and don't see any need to change the board. I also like to see who the other board members are that are selling coins on Ebay rather than take a shot at somebody I don't know or have never head of. I voted to leave it alone. It's worked fine for years so why mess with it?

There have been other threads on the subject.
IMO the majority of 'buyers' want them seperated & the majority of 'sellers' want them combined.
Not enough of a majority to make the change.

Although, now that I think about it, changing it to 3 boards would mean just another board to police!

Maybe the 2 board option (FS/eBay-Trade) would be better!

I think that it's what PCGS wants not a few board mambers.
However PCGS does listen to suggestions.

If every thread on the BST board had the following format then it would be easier to sort through.

FSH - (description)
WTB - (description)
eBay - (description)

I like to see what you all have to offer, regardless of where you offer it.

I just don't understand why everyone has to make such a big deal over this whole issue......again and again and again and again...ad nauseum...

buy sell trade is just that post a want list trade list and for selling post a fixed price

Make eBay a seperate forum is great. It will probably be about as dead as Stamps, Swaps, or Non Sports cards.

I voted for 'No Change'...since the majority of the members who have things for sale on eBay put that in the title it helps to identify the eBay threads from the FSH threads. Yeah, there are the spam threads but those are few...

Honestly I believe a change would be good in regards to and addition of another board,however what you all don't seem to realize is that PCGS doesn't give a darn to what goes on in the BST! These worthless threads just take up space!

Ged rid of the ebay boards, they are annoying. Sorry to all ebay posters but really now. They should have a separate area for such post. If I wanted to buy from ebay I will go there.

Thats why we need 3 seperate areas, then they wouldnt necessarily be "out" and if they were banned, they'd just get an alt ID anyway
