Awhile back there was a thread about the penny that ICG graded AU58 then it got cracked out and sent to PCGS and it came back a MS63. I believe it was TDN that said there was very little difference between the 2 grades. I have a 1899 $ in a PCGS AU58 holder that I bought raw as a MS63. Actually I sent 2 MS63 99 $ that came back AU58.
YEAH! One Customer Service Rep who only worked 2 days this week told me he would also be off work until next Thursday so I wonder how many more employees will have most of the next 10-12 days off.
On the positive side... look at the opportunities that PCGS is offering with the grading they are now pursuing and the new slabs without the coin numbers to easily pick them out of the other PCGS slabs. These should be great new *older green label* opportunities to toss at eBay auctions as to how these coins were so undergraded for their time. Nothing has changed.... just another cycle and another label color.

Maybe you dont submit enough to get the PCGS special treatment. It seem PCGS dont appreciate the average collector even though we, the average collector, made PCGS what it is today. Why should they care, its only money.

I am not sure what methodology PCGS uses but my last two submisions went through relatively quickly. A "modern" submision went through in mid Novemebr in a record 16 days and was comprised of 6 platinum proofs which all came back as DCAM 69's except one. The oodd one out was a DCAM 70.
I also sent in a "regular" submission in early December that went through in 16 days. PCGS is graciously giving me 5 free submissions for missing the one day.
I am just an average collector who sends in 15-20 coins a year. Nothing to complain about yet.

If that was the case all AU-58's would be bumped up to MS!
Details please?
Sent in a group of former PCGS MS62 $10 Indians that "I thought" had a shot at 63... Serenity now! Serenity now...

<< <i>Man, I'm glad I got my submission back this week. A fresh 1941-P MS68 Walking Liberty half and an MS65 hawaiian for Christmas this year.
I feel much better now!
If it makes you feel any better, Adrian won't let me have them.
Yes it does, thanks!

Well, as you know from reading these boards, pcgs is infallible- so that must mean that you have no idea how to grade!
