Which CC Morgan would carry more premium if...

I have the opportunity to buy an ANACS certified MS65/65 1884-CC Morgan in the original GSA holder with photo certificate and sticker.

I think I am going to buy it, but would it be worth more in that original GSA holder with the MS65/65 sticker and photo certificate or in a PCGS holder?

GSA holders are worth more

NGC GSA graded holders are worth more in MS65 and above. Below this it's a crap shoot. As far as ANACS goes who knows. I have not seen them provide a grade on a GSA holder before.

I have some of mine in NGC certified GSA holders. Keeping the coin in it's original holder with the box and certificate keeps it more "authentic" to me.

Now if PCGS changed up and did something similar...

Either get it stickered by NGC or wait until PCGS hops on that bandwagon, but leave it in the original holder. You still have the old (I assume) ANACS photo certificate regardless, and that should fit into the GSA box.

I just don't bother to get mine certified. They're 63 at best. To me, they gotta stay in the GSA holder.

So now we have established that it is worth more in the GSA holder. Now the question becomes: Because it is obv/rev graded by ANACS as MS65 ( which I understand has not been done for quite some time), would it be worth more like that or certified by NGC?

I'd send it to NGC,however I have one thing to say!

If it is the one with beautiful rainbow toning on the obverse,you had better stay away!

"Worth" more in the original GSA holder. If you want a GSA, buy the original plastic.

Is the coin a true 65? If you don't care about the plastic buy the nicest 65 you can find regardless of TPGS.

If it is the one on Ebay closing today, It looks like an MS-64 at best. Those photo certs were done in the day when MS-65 spanned grades from today's MS-64 to MS-66. At over $400, it looks overpriced at this point.
